Head Injury

If anyone under your care suffers or is known to have suffered a head injury which causes concern you should seek immediate medical advice from a professional.   If the urgency dictates the casualty should be taken to the nearest Accident and Emergency Department.

In extreme cases an ambulance should be called by the Head Coach/Manager.

Professional Medical advice should be sought particularly if you suffer from any of the following signs and symptoms:

  • Unusual drowsiness or a falling level of consciousness,

  • Increasingly severe headache,

  • Persistent vomiting,

  • Disturbance of vision,

  • Strange behaviour, or

  • If you are worried

If your child sustains a head injury the following additional symptoms should be monitored:

  • Irritability

  • Increased level of crying

  • Unusually drowsy

  • Does not stir in the sleep, or does not react normally when disturbed

Should any of the above cause concern seek professional medical advice immediately
