Hunts u13  County Cup 1/4 Final (14/12/08)

Brampton Spatans A   26      St Ives B   1

Spartans moved into the Semi finals for the second year running with a super performance against St.Ives. Brampton dominated from the first minute after David Hartley opened the scoring with a screamer that flew into the top corner, but credit must go to both teams, St Ives who kept their heads up and kept going right to the final whistle, and the home side who kept playing football throughout the game and were gracious winners. Brampton played some superb attacking football while snuffing out defensively any attacks that did come their way and the goals flowed. Sam Findlay claimed his first goal for the club while Christian le and Adam Pedlar bagged double hatricks. Charlie Naylor grabbed 4 goals with Dominic Stevens netting his first hatrick for the club. Ryan Barnett bagged himself a hatrick, scoring the clubs 100th goal this season in the process. Thomas Biddle with 2 and Owen Dixon completed the scoring for the home side before the visitors deservedly got on the score sheet near the end of the game.

Cambs u13  A League (23/11/08)

Priory Parkside A    0    Brampton Spatans A    9

Brampton got back to winning ways with an absolutely superb performance in really awful playing conditions. Playing on a very sticky pitch it was never going to be easy for either team and it was the visitors who adapted the best, trying to move the ball around the pitch to open up their opponents and never looked in danger when 2 goals in as many minutes early in the game gave them the lead to push on for a convincing victory. Ryan Barnett gave the Spartans the lead nipping in at the back post to neatly put away an excellent Charlie Naylor cross and once Owen Dixon had tucked away his first of a fine hat trick there was no looking back with any home attacks being well dealt with by the visiting defense. The key was to get the ball wide and Brampton used this tactic well pulling their opponents about and creating chances and it was no surprise Charlie Naylor cooly slammed in numbers 3 and 4 from this area before the break along with Christian le adding his name to the score sheet after a fine individual run and neat finish. The second half continued as the first with the visitors taking the game to their hosts, and with legs getting tired Brampton used their squad to the full bringing on fresh legs to keep up the pressure, and further chances were created and goals came. Levi Massie added a brace as did Owen Dixon to complete his brilliant treble and the scoring to deservedly give the points to the Spartans.

Cambs u13  A League (16/11/08)

Brampton Spatans A 0  Rowdies 1

Brampton fell to defeat for the first time this season as their visitors done a smash and grab raid to take the points. Right from the first whistle the home side took the game to Rowdies and should of had a healthy lead but were denied by some good goalkeeping and for a change some poor finishing and paid the price when the visitors scored from a rare attack. Brampton kept up a high tempo to attack in waves but continued to be frustrated by some good defending and seeing chances  come and go right up to the final whistle which saw them come away from a game that they totally dominated with nothing.

Hunts County Cup U13 (09/11/08)

Peterborough Boys 0 Brampton Spatans A 5

Played in very difficult conditions Brampton put in a great team performance to overcome their determined hosts. Both teams struggled with the conditions to get the ball down and play football, however Brampton looked the more likely to score and did create some decent half chances but failed to to take these, but 2 goals in as many minutes put them in total control of the game. Levi Massie let fly with a shot that the 'keeper couldn't hold and owen Dixon reacted the quickest to pounce on the loose ball and slide it under the 'keeper and into the net, then shortly after, a superb Charlie Naylor cross was well met by Adam Pedlar at the back post to head into the corner to give the visitors a deserved half time lead. The second half continued with the visitors creating the best chances and made it 3-0 when Christian le followed up well after Ryan Barnett's shot had produced a good save from the home 'keeper. Brampton were really in the ascendancy now and carved open plenty of chances to extend their lead long before Charlie Naylor added a brace midway through the second half to send The Spartans into the next round.

Cambs 13  League Cup (02-11-08)

Brampton Spartans A   12    Waterbeach   1

Brampton stormed into the next round of the league cup with a super all round team performance and a convincing 12-1 victory in which 8 different players found the back of the net. Credit must go to their opposition who kept going and really made a game of it in the opening quarter of the game, but once the home side had struck with 2 neatly taken goals through Adam Pedlar and Ryan Barnett the game looked safe. The home side opened up their lower league opposition time after time by playing some nice crisp passing football and giving Waterbeach no time on the ball and had opened up a six goal lead by the break. Once again the home side looked back to their solid best with the defence having a good game being well marshalled by James Belbin who deservedly got himself on the score sheet today. Further goals came from Christian Le as he added another 4 to his seasons tally with 4 clinical finishes, Charlie Naylor ran almost ½ the length of the pitch before smashing the ball home from close range, Josh England coolly finished brilliantly from the edge of the area firing the ball into the top corner, Adam Pedlar added his second with a neat nearpost finish, Owen Dixon who had caused the visitors problems the whole game fired in from a tight angle before Elliott Eels completed the scoring with a stunning effort from the edge of the area that sailed into the top corner seal a fine victory.

Cambs u13A  League (19-10-08)

Spartak A  0    Brampton Spartans    3

The defending champions travelled to their closest challengers last season and came away with an impressive victory. Right from the first whistle the visitors never gave their hosts any  time on the ball David Hartley covering almost ever blade of grass during a great performance. It was no surprise that Brampton opened the scoring. Thomas Biddle intercepted the ball, Christian Le moved the ball wide to Owen Dixon who put over an excellent cross, and while everyone waited for the ball Ryan Barnett nipped in and slammed the bouncing ball into the roof of the net giving the ‘keeper no chance. Although Brampton seemed in control from this point the size of the home side could have caused problems but a great defensive performance from Thomas Biddle, Sam Findlay, Elliott Eels, Noah Foster and Josh England, and James Belbin kept any danger on Cameron Macleods goal down to a minimum. A second was always likely and it came through Levi Massie who swivelled brilliantly and the ball past the ‘keeper and into the corner.

The second half was a much more even affair with Brampton soaking up any pressure sent their way and gave the score line a more realistic reflection on the way the game went when Christian le, who had deserved a goal let fly with a wonderful shot that looked a goal all the way but slammed off the crossbar and fell to Adam Pedlar for an easy tap and secure a fine victory.

Cambs U13 'A' League (12-10-08)

Brampton Spartans  8   Ramsey Colts  0

Brampton continued their impressive start to the season with a comprehensive victory over Ramsey. Right from the start it looked like the home side would come out victorious as their speed of thought and quickness of passing caused their visitors problems and it took just 4 minutes for Brampton to take the lead through Adam Pedlar. Charlie Naylor then added a brace of headers before 2 beautifully taken goals from Christian le and Ryan Barnett gave the home side a comfortable first half lead. the second saw the home side dominate once again only this time they couldn't find the target as regularly as the first. Christian le added a second after some unselfish play from Adam pedlar before Charlie Naylor completed a fine hatrick and Ryan Barnett added No 8 with a good free kick near the end.

Cambs u13 League Cup 1st Round (05/10/08)

Haddenham 1    Brampton Spartans    7

Played in some of the worst conditions credit must go to both teams for their effort during the game. Played on a very small pitch both the visitors struggled to play their normal flowing football. Although struggling to find their form Brampton opened the scoring after 4 minutes when A beautiful Charlie Naylor cross was well met by Levi Massie who slid the ball home. Adam Peddlar continued his goal a game with the second shortly after. The home side then rallied and pulled one back with a speculative lob that gave Cameron MacLeod no chance. The conditions never got much better in the second half but it was the visitors who adapted the better and for the second week running Christian Le dominated the second half helping himself to a second half hatrick. Owen Dixon finished off a flowing move with a neat finish with Levi Massie getting his second and Brampton's 7th near the end.

Hunts u13 County Cup (28-09-08)

Brampton Spartans    20    Bluntisham Blasters 0

An awseme display from the Spartans saw them blast the blasters in a comprehensive 20-0 victory. The home side took just 90 secs to open the scoring after Ryan Barnett tucked away a cross after some good work from Dominic Stevens and Owen Dixon. Not surprisingly this gave the home side confidence and they went on to dominate the game with Cam Macleod in the home goal getting just a couple of touches, while the rest of the team played some great passing and moving football carving open the visitors open time and time again, which was a delight to watch. Ryan Barnett went onto complete his hatrick in the last minute with great assistance from his team mates, while some great finishing from Adam Pedlar and Owen Dixon enabled them to knocked in 4 a piece, Charlie Naylor notched a fine hatrick while Christian Le  also got in on the act with a good 2nd half hatrick helping the score along, an own goal was added before neat finishes from Josh England and Levi Massie helped complete this emphatic victory, and move the Spartans into the next round.

Cambs u13 'A' league (14-09-08)

Brampton Spartans    2    Sawston    1

After a super performance last week Brampton where hoping much of the same for their opening home game, but came against a resilient Sawston team that put in a strong performance all over the pitch, something the home side failed to do. However the home side created some excellent openings throughout the first half and failed to take them until Ryan Barnett latched onto a neat header from Adam Pedlar to race away and neatly steer the ball past an in-form 'keeper and into  the corner. With some good chances coming, and going the home team grew frustrated at the lack of quality all over the pitch and never really settled into their stride and this wasn't helped when from their only real shot on goal Sawston levelled the game with a speculative effort that sailed over the stranded Cameron Macleod in the home goal and into the net. The home side started the second half in much better form with Charlie Naylor putting in some great runs down the right which was causing the visitors plenty of problems. The Spartans then had a couple of efforts some how cleared off the line before Adam Pedlar fired in from close range via a deflection to give the home side the lead and one that they managed to hold until until the final whistle came.

Cambs u13 'A'League (07-09-08)

Newmarket    1    Brampton Spartans    9

The league champions travelled to Newmarket for their first game in defence of their league title and came away with an emphatic 9-1 victory. With new signings Josh England, Levi Massie and Dominic Stevens all putting in solid performances the visitors took the game to their hosts, creating many chances before Ryan Barnett finally opened the scoring for the visitors with a neat header over the advancing 'keeper. It was all one way traffic, but the hosts broke away to level the scores with their only real shot on target. Not to be denied Brampton got the ball down and played some nice neat football, putting some great moves together and it was no surprise they regained the lead with a great finish from Owen Dixon after some good work from Dominic Stevens. Ryan Barnett then added his second just before the break. The game was effectively put to bed within 30 seconds of the restart, a mix up in the home defence allowed the quick thinking Adam Pedler to nip in and slot the ball under the keeper for the first of his excellent hat trick. The real engine of the Spartans team, Christian Le then added a brace before becoming provider with a great corner that was met brilliantly by the head of Charlie Naylor to power the ball past the helpless 'keeper and complete the scoring.
